“Boston Cello Quartet plays Piazzolla, La Muerte del Angel”

The Boston Cello Quartet You Tube Channel

From the YouTube Channel:

“The Boston Cello Quartet was founded in January 2010 by four cellists of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Showcasing impeccable ensemble playing, the BCQ also rotates the role of leader for each piece, which is unique in the world of cello quartets. This is the first time in the history of the BSO that such a cello ensemble is formed. Their debut concert at Ozawa Hall (Tanglewood) was described by the press as “the best concert since the hall was built” in 1994. The BCQ partnered with the Grammy-winning pop band Train for a concert at the Shed of Tanglewood in August 2011 and recently recorded the music of the videogame “Of Orcs and Men” for XBox, PS3 and PC, composed by Olivier Deriviere. The BCQ performs a wide repertoire ranging from classical to tango, jazz, medleys, and new music, such as “The waltz of the black ants”, written for them by Japanese composer Tetsuro Hoshii. A debut CD album, including brand new and virtuosic arrangements, is anticipated by winter.”
